Early Elementary Full Time Teaching Job

Challenge to Excellence Charter School, a high-performing, Douglas County Public Charter is seeking a full time, early elementary teacher for the 2019-2020 School Year.

Qualifications: Colorado Initial or Professional Colorado Teaching License; B.A. or higher degree.

Job Description: All candidates will be required to teach a prescribed curriculum that includes Saxon Math and Open Court reading, utilizing both Paideia philosophy and technology immersion.  The successful applicant will also be required to administer i-READY and state mandated standardized tests, be able to use data gathered to drive instruction and be willing to work cohesively with both vertical and horizontal teaching teams in an ability grouped environment.  All candidates must have evidence through previous evaluations of teaching that indicates a high level of classroom management and planning. The successful candidate would be able to:

  • Align engaging, experiential based lessons with state standards
  • Adapt classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans
  • Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration
  • be willing to work cohesively with both vertical and horizontal teaching teams
  • Differentiate lessons for students with learning plans
  • Integrate technology in instruction strategies
  • Direct assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers for the purpose of providing an effective classroom program and addressing the needs of individual students
  • Model conversation, manners, clean-up activities, listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social and interpersonal behavior
  • Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment within a Positive Behavioral Instruction System (PBIS)
  • Monitor students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Participate in a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions  
  • Prepare a variety of written materials (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements.
  • Report incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code and school policies.
  • Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned

Salary Range – $39,000 – $64,000

Intermediate Elementary Full Time Teaching Job

Building Engineer – Custodial Services

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the maintenance, cleaning and upkeep of the building and grounds to include
classrooms, common areas and play fields. Responsible for monitoring and performing required
inspections for various systems within the building.
Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school
clientele.
Essential Physical Requirements:
• Frequent lifting five (5) to fifty (50) pounds • Occasional lifting fifty (50) to one hundred (100)
pounds • Frequent extensive walking, bending, standing, reaching, stooping • Occasional
climbing, kneeling, squatting

Responsibilities:

  • Must relate to staff and students in a friendly, professional manner
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness, maintenance and sanitation of the facility, grounds and
    equipment maintaining a high standard of safety and efficiency.
  • Support all scheduling and coordinate with Building Administrator, work activities of
    custodial personnel and contact services as assigned.
  • Utilize positive techniques to supervise and evaluate assigned personnel.
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of facility operations including electrical, gas/water controls
    and Heating Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and related equipment.
  • Assist all emergency operations personnel as required.
  • Ensure all inspections on building, ground and equipment are done weekly or as
    assigned.
  • Utilize and train on effective use of cleaning and restorative materials as required.
  • Ensure stakeholders’ satisfaction by coordinating and performing all setups and
    teardowns in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the general safety of the Public by assisting or supervising the removing snow
    and ice from the walkways, entries and play areas as required.
  • Promote learning environment by performing maintenance, cleaning, and setup
    requests, within Custodial responsibilities, generated by Building Staff.

Child Care – Program Leader

Description

This is a part-time position from 2:45 p.m to 6:00 p.m during regular school days.

Responsible for supporting the Director and Assistant Director in supervising children in various programs and unstructured activities. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.

  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children in various settings.
  • Actively engage and interact with children during operating hours.
  • Execute program and/or enrichment activities.
  • Enforce individual site behavioral expectations.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of equipment and materials in the program.
  • Administer minor first aid.
  • Conduct daily processes and duties required for opening, closing, and/or transitioning between sessions.
  • May work with special needs children.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

First Aid & CPR Certification (We can get your certified/re-certified.); Experience with working with children in a school or day care setting. High school diploma or college degree.

Starting in a $12.00 range but commensurate with candidate’s experience.
