Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math
STEAM education is an approach to teaching and learning that combines science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. We strive to ignite curiosity, encourage collaboration and equip students with a robust foundation of skills and experiences to be successful, honorable leaders in a complex, future world. Our curriculum stresses math, science, and applied technology, which results in C2E students particularly excelling in math. Our flexible grouping model creates an inclusive classroom culture that meets students where they are and honors student variability.
At C2E, our STEAM curriculum expands to include visual and performing arts programs. Elementary students have a 1-week rotation through art, music, PE, STEM and Spanish. Middle School students choose from STEAM focused electives like animation & coding, personal finance and concepts in action.
C2E’s annual STEAM Night invites community partners for a night to explore STEAM-based activities, together as a family.
Visual and Exploratory Art
Elementary students engage in a variety of visual and exploratory arts in a noncompetitive environment, learn art history and are exposed to inspiring works of art. We focus on fine motor function skills that are adaptable to other aspects of their education. Middle school students have the opportunity to continue their passion for visual arts education through a number of electives, such as Painting and Drawing, Intro to Art and Ceramics. We identify Elements of Art and how those ideas come together to create a Principle of Art.
Music Program
C2E’s dedication to music is evident in the passion that exudes from C2E’s music teacher. Elementary students explore music through singing and playing, while upper elementary students have an opportunity to choose an instrument and join the orchestra or band. Middle School students can choose from band, choir, or orchestra to further their musical education.
